The post-pandemic workplace has completely changed what succession planning is and how we think about it. From early retirements to worker shortages, coupled with the multi-generational workforce has completely changed the methodology of succession planning. This session will focus on engaging examples and discussion to help HR professionals with how to address the critical issues faced in talent pools, recruitment, and staffing.

Speakers: Roger Irvin: Chief Human Resources, Diversity & Engagement Officer and Nick Dyson: Human Resources Information Systems Data Specialist
Roger is the current Chief Human Resources Diversity and Inclusion Officer at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, North Carolina. Roger has worked in various Human Resources roles for Catawba Valley Community College for the past sixteen years, including such roles as Personnel Assistant, Personnel Specialist, Hiring and Benefits Director, and Human Resources Director. Roger holds a Master of Science Degree in Human Resources from Western Carolina University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Thiel College in Greenville, PA. He is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management and has previously served on the Board for the North Carolina chapter of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR).
Nick is the HRIS Data Specialist for Catawba Valley Community College. While Nick may be the newest member of the CVCC HR team, he has a wide array of experience to speak from. Nick has worked in Logistics as an Account Manager and also as a Business Intelligence Analyst doing Project Managment and Report Design. He obtained a degree in Business Administration and an MBA from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Nick is a Certified Speaker, Trainer, and Coach with Maxwell Leadership (John Maxwell’s coaching organization), a Content Creator, and an Adjunct Business Instructor. Nick is an entrepreneur with his own leadership and personal development coaching business, and he is writing his first book on Imposter Syndrome.
